The Artment's 7 Gorgeous Bedroom Accent Wall Ideas for You!

We dedicated the last couple of blogs to making your bedroom a better place to be, or maybe an ideal place for you.

Looking at all the appreciation showered on us, we decided to create one last blog for the Bedroom Decor Series.

Through this article you’ll get a sense of how to create an accent wall, amp things up, while keeping the rest of the bedroom same.  With little effort, your bedroom transformation will be on it way to speaking volumes about you!

We have 7 ideas waiting to be explored!

So, let’s dive right in, shall we?

  1. The Basics

This one’s a given. We’re obviously going to start by picking out the paint. It’s the most inexpensive and non-committal way of changing up your bedroom. If you’re planning on doing a DIY painted wall, it’ll only take a few hours and won’t cost a hand and a leg. The final product is an accent wall that will give you satisfaction every day!

Take for example, this bedroom. A simple black painted wall. But what if you added a couple of gold vertical stripes, and made it even better? The luster of the gold will add that oomph to your room and is easy to execute.

  1. Two-Tone Geometry

The basic idea behind this heading is to use paint, again. Instead of a base with stripes, this method you’ll need two or shades of paint, and a roll of tape. Begin by planning a design and color scheme in your mind. Then, apply a base coat, ideally, white. Once that dries off, you want to tape the wall to create geometrical shapes with diagonal lines. It’s pretty simple, and you’ll find a bunch of examples on how to do so. Once you positioned your tapes, get painting! After all the wall has completely dried off, remove the tape and you’re done!

Here’s a cool color scheme to take inspiration from.

  1. Textured DIY Wall

Here’s the deal, you could probably use any type of texture you wanted for your accent wall, but we’ve got something cool! The idea is to repaint your wall with a super attractive and bold color. Now, get some wooden strips of the same width to stick to your wall. Cut them the ideal lengths and create a nice pattern on your wall. The final step is to paint these strips the same as your base color, and voila! You’ve got yourself a brand new, and exclusive accent wall.

Pro tip: Instead of wooden strips you could also opt for eco-sensitive bamboo strips.

Take a look at this image and tell us it wouldn’t totally be the coolest thing ever!

  1. Motifs are Cool

The thing with motifs is that they might sound like too much. Too much commitment, too loud, and just in general, tiring. But, listen! They don’t have to be! Unless you’re the kind who absolutely loves motifs, you can add them to a small portion of your accent wall and call it a day. Alright, so the first step is to select your favorite motif. Done? Now, if you’re just wanting a subtle change, then you can think of the placement for this motif. Paint it, stick it, stencil it, whatever your choice is. That’s all, easy as that!

Here’s a motif we think will look super nice with our Bohemian Chic Kilim Cushions.

  1. Ombre – The Definition of Hard work

Painting you accent wall or sticking an Ombre sticker is probably one of the most beautiful, time-consuming, and satisfying things you’ll do in a while. You want to be careful in picking out the color though. The tones need to be in perfect sync with each other, or you might end up with a disastrous accent wall. We don’t want that, now, do we?

Here are a couple of cool and classy colors that can be used for your Ombre accent wall:

  • Light purple and pink
  • Blush pink and mint green
  • Hues of blue
  • Sky blue fading into white and changing to a tangerine shade
  • A deep brown at the base rising up to turn into beige

  1. Get Extra

Be bold in your choices! Whether it’s about your life or your bedroom accent wall! Whether you want a bold color, pattern, artwork, or photo frames and plants that needs to be shown off, it’s your choice. You can combine these too if you want to go a little off beat and make a statement. That’s what accent walls are about anyway!

For example, this image right here. The way they’ve combined a patterned wall is contrasting artworks, it’s breathtaking!
