New Year Home Decor Ideas for India: Reset Your Home Without a Makeover

A home reset is not a makeover. It is the smaller job of clearing what has piled up, fixing one or two weak spots and starting 2027 with a room that works. January 1 is a good deadline for it. Researchers at Wharton found that Google searches for "diet", gym visits and commitments to pursue goals all rise after temporal landmarks such as the start of a new year, month or week, or a birthday, in a study published in Management Science. That study was about personal goals, not decor, but it helps explain why the first days of January feel like permission to begin.

Step 1: Start with the one-hour edit (₹0)

Before you buy anything, clear three surfaces: the centre table, the console or entry shelf, and the bedside. Step 4: Hosting on 31 December? Set up a drinks corner, not the whole room
